The Order of Things

The order of things...... Kind of makes you wonder what I am talking about. This world beckons us to keep up with the Jones', to have the latest and greatest of everything, to be supermodel material at all times, to be everything the world wants us to be.

STOP!!!!

Why? Why would we want all of those things? The answer may hurt. Because, when all of these things matter to you, you haven't put Jesus first in your life. People prioritize things by their level of importance. That is what we have been trained to do. Ask yourself, what is the most important things in my life? Answers would vary, but most people would probably have a short list that looks something like this:
1. Family - kids, husband, wife, etc.
2. Wealth/Stability
3. Church/Volunteering

Is that similar to the top three in your list in that order? What if just by changing that list, your entire life would change? What if you relinquished control? What if your list was like this?
1. Jesus
2. Jesus
3. Jesus

"But seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all of these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33

Nothing of this world can come with you when you go. Why not give every single piece of your life to the King?

In the world or of it?

We've all heard be in the world, but not of it. How do you know you are being of the world? This is something I have asked myself quite a few times.

It's been 4 years since I've given my life to Jesus. I am by no means an expert in God's word, but I do know God's incredible love. So, I want to share some things that I have noticed about myself being of the world without realizing it.

Gossip. We all know we should not do it. But the enemy knows that too. It is so easy to get sucked into a conversation about someone, instead of praying for them.

Anger. Guilty *hangs head*. My anger or frustration still come barreling out sometimes. But what do I have to be angry about? I am living eternally with Jesus!

Unwholesome speaking. Once in a while, one of those nasty little words that were very much a part of my vocabulary before being saved will slip out. As soon as it happens, I repent. I know that is no who I am anymore. Getting caught up in worldly things causes back sliding.

These are just a few that I know I have had a rocky road with. Being totally transparent isn't easy, but I'm holding myself accountable to what I've done. So I ask you again:

Are you in the world or of it?

I am better than I was yesterday. And every single day God's grace and instruction teach me something new. Listen, He wants to teach you too ♡♡

God bless and Keep Smilin'
