Some women look at me as weak. Some look a me as crazy. I look at me as my husbands help meet, my family's comfort zone, a follower of Christ, and a happy Mama and Wife! I love taking care of my husband and child. I love being able to provide for them in a way that only I know how. Is my life all smiles and "Leave it to Beaver"-esque? No. Absolutely not! We have bumps in the road. We have quarrels, arguments, just like everyone else. But you know what, we are happy.
I know a lot of ladies are shaking their heads right now. A lot of ladies thinking, "She can't be serious", or "No way would I serve my family 24/7."
"An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates." (Proverbs 31:10-31 ESV)
Now this woman here, is super woman! She is what I strive to be. Lets also take a look at Titus 2.
"Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us." (Titus 2:3-8 ESV)
Now, some women see that word "submissive" or "submission" in a bad way. Does that make me a door mat? Far from it. I respect my husbands decisions, his views on everything, and support him in his decisions and actions. He, likewise, does the same to me. Am I a silent bystander? Absolutely not! Anyone who knows me, knows my mouth can, on many occasions, get away from me. Am I perfect? No. No one is perfect. The only perfect person ever in existence walking the earth was Jesus. D I strive to walk closer to him, now my stand when it comes to my family, and enjoy life everyday? YES I DO!
I'm sure there are lots of questions regarding this. Please leave them in the comments below. There will be no name calling, slander, etc tolerated.
God Bless and a keep Smilin!
